Etpa is active in the European Power Exchange for the short-term electricity market. Our state-of-the-art platform is a key enabler for the transition to renewable energy. We provide access to the spot-trading markets for many new players including battery companies, energy management systems, asset owners, and utility companies. Our current portfolio of exchanges includes Intraday (XBID), Congestion management (GOPACS), and day-after trading (EX-Post). We are rapidly expanding our geography and products, introducing XBID to Germany, Austria, and Belgium this year. At Etpa, we are committed to playing a pivotal role in the Energy Transition.
Job description
As a financial controller, you will support our continued growth and strengthen our financial operations. You will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, accounting operations, and ensuring the integrity of our financial records. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a key role in the day-to-day financial management of Etpa and contribute to the company's continued growth.
- Own the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements, and continuously look for ways to make these faster and more efficient
- Question and improve how our financial processes work, with a strong drive to automate manual tasks and scale what works well
- Build, maintain and further develop the central datastore used to reconcile data between the Etpa platform and accounting software, with a drive to automate and scale where possible
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards
- Support the CFO with financial data for budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
- Maintain and improve the financial administration and chart of accounts in Exact Online, actively identifying opportunities to optimize the setup
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, and follow-up
- Prepare and file VAT returns and other statutory obligations across relevant jurisdictions (NL, DE, MT)
Relevant work experience
- Proven experience (2-3 years) in a similar role
- Hands-on experience with accounting software, preferably Exact Online and Basecone; familiarity with Power BI is a plus
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial processes end-to-end
- Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus
- A valid work permit for the European Union
