Job description

As a Business Development Manager – CPO Partnerships, you transform charge point operators into flexible-demand partners. You identify which CPOs stand to benefit most from steerable load and utilize Deftpower's existing flexibility playbook, including cashbacks, off-peak rewards, and OCPI steering, to develop the commercial case that secures contracts. This role requires someone who enjoys long, technical sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and can confidently engage in commercial, technical, and energy-market discussions.

  • Map and prioritize CPO partners with the most to gain from a deal
  • Build the commercial case and negotiate the contract that gets a CPO on board
  • Represent Deftpower in CPO and industry conversations, from first pitch to signed agreement
  • Share what CPOs and flex buyers actually need with Product, so you keep selling something we can deliver
  • Explore flex buyers (BRPs, aggregators, energy traders) as a next market for aggregated flexibility
  • Manage signed CPO accounts together with Account Management, keeping the partnership on track

Relevant work experience

  • Five or more years of experience in business development, partnerships, or commercial negotiation, preferably in energy, e-mobility, or a related regulated market
  • Experience in structuring and closing B2B contracts with technically and financially sophisticated counterparts
  • Understanding of energy-market and regulatory complexity, including grid-operator requirements, balancing markets, and BRP relationships
  • Ability to navigate long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles without losing momentum
