Job description

As an energy data analyst (f/m/x), you will be responsible for transforming real European energy market data into analyses that directly influence how battery storage and renewable assets are traded. You will join the analytical backbone supporting our battery storage and renewables business, conducting backtests, simulations, and studies that inform actual trading decisions and customer deliverables.

• Run backtests for storage and storage-plus-renewables setups across grid restrictions, battery parameters and asset sizes
• Test new trading strategies before they go live by turning features like ramp control or aFRR logic into targeted simulations
• Keep our data pipelines and PV/wind generation profiles in good shape, catching data quality issues before they become problems
• Pull, validate and process data yourself with SQL/PostgreSQL and Power Query
• Dig into the 'why' behind the numbers, from capture rate decomposition to asset sizing and curtailment diagnostics
• Automate manual reporting work directly in Python, reducing recurring effort across the team
• Ensure reliable data visualizations for internal and external stakeholders via Plotly and Grafana dashboards
• Contribute to our expansion into new European markets

Relevant work experience

• Confident Python skills (pandas, numpy, matplotlib/Plotly, Jupyter)
• Hands-on SQL/PostgreSQL skills
• Comfortable with time-series data
• Grounding in European energy markets and renewables
• Reporting automation with Plotly
• Statistical methods and Grafana are a plus
