Job description
As a Research & Development Molecular Biology Intern, you will engage in innovative research aimed at developing sustainable alternatives to synthetic nitrogen fertilizers. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work in a cutting-edge laboratory, collaborating with experts in molecular biology and biotechnology to explore the genetic engineering of plants. You will contribute to projects that have a significant positive impact on the environment and agriculture, while enhancing your technical skills in a dynamic startup environment.
- Participate in the cloning of nif gene clusters from diazotrophic organisms into E. coli.
- Conduct genomic DNA extraction from various diazotrophic bacteria
- Design primers and perform PCR to amplify genomic regions for cloning
- Engage in in-silico and in-vivo yeast cloning and validate via PCR and gel electrophoresis
- Perform NGS sequencing to analyze and validate genetic assemblies
- Conduct N2 fixation assays with engineered E. coli strains.
- Extract key amino acids and quantify them using LC-MS/MS
