Job description
As a backend engineering manager, you will be responsible for two key areas: the technical quality of our backend systems and the daily leadership of a team of five engineers. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering. If you are passionate about developing high-performance backend systems and leading the teams that create them, we would love to meet you!
- You’ll actively improve our backend processes, track performance, and sharpen our delivery lifecycle
- Build a robust, scalable architecture and a team that operates autonomously
- You’ll work closely with our QA and Mobile teams to smooth out the friction in our day-to-day operations
- I’m looking for someone who trusts AI to multiply their output and who will push our team to grow and iterate faster because of it
- You’ll be leading a team of 5 backend engineers in a NestJS/TS/Postgres/GCP environment
Relevant work experience
- Six or more years of experience in backend development, working with production systems at scale
- Deep expertise in TypeScript and NestJS
- Strong PostgreSQL skills: indexing, query optimization, schema design at scale
- Hands-on experience with Redis and Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with Prisma ORM or equivalent is a strong plus
- You've led or mentored engineers before
