Simultaneously, the production of biochar acts as a long-term CO₂ sink, effectively removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and contributing to climate change mitigation. This biochar can be used to improve soil fertility or sold as a valuable product. Additionally, the sequestered CO₂ can be monetized through carbon certificates, creating an extra revenue stream. Autarkize's technology is designed for seamless integration into existing infrastructures, making it an ideal solution for farmers, municipalities, and industries seeking sustainable and economically viable energy practices. Their mission is to enable companies and entire regions to become energy and fertilizer self-sufficient while actively combating climate change by removing CO₂ from the atmosphere. By upgrading underutilized biomass, autarkize envisions the worldwide deployment of 620,000 self-sufficient pyrolysis plants, capable of supplying 250 million households with climate-neutral energy, removing 1.5 gigatons of CO₂ annually, and freeing 250 million hectares of land from agrochemicals.
